Day by day...

Day 2 summary

Day 2 – With a leisurely rise at 6am, we had breakfast at the “Quality Wembly Hotel” and then proceeded to split up into two groups. Our group went to a L’Oreal Young Science workshop where we explored DNA and Bacteria evolution, with a fellow called Dave leading the workshop. We definitely felt like young scientists with our cliché lab coats and latex gloves. We then boarded our bus and were off to Westminster. We got free time and wandered around Westminster shops, buying the best lunches of the trip so far. After meeting back at the ‘rendezvous’ point, we were given informative tours around the 15th Century architecture, graves and memorials of Westminster Abbey. Buckingham palace was our next place to be. We saw the Queens Home although she wasn’t there and then went for a scenic walk around St James park. In St James park, we saw cherry blossom tress, ducks, a wedding and most importantly SQUIRRELS! After wandering around to Trafalgar Square (Where you had to pay to pee) we witnessed a child climbing on lions (I guess you could say he was the Lion King). Our dinner for that night was on the water at Vauxhall, where was enjoyed a classical English dinner consisting of fish and chips and bread and butter pudding, with scenic views of river Thames, a great way to finish Day 2.
