Day by day...

Day 10 summary

Day 10 – Today, was our last full day in Geneva before we get transferred to Chur, the oldest town in Switzerland, where we will spend the night and following half day! Before leaving Geneva, we had a guided tour of the Old Town, seeing many notable and significant sites where lots of history has embedded the foundations of how the Swiss live their lives today. Some of these sites include: The old arsenal, beautiful mosaic paintings and artefacts dating back to the birth of Geneva and more!

After the tour of the old city we had nearly 2 hours’ free time to get lunch and shop for souvenirs for our family. As we journeyed to Chur, we saw gigantic snow-capped mountains that we stopped to take a photo of. The drive was a rather more enjoyable on than usual, with our tour guide Christine involving everyone in a trivia-style game involving general knowledge. We were asked to make groups of 4 with the people next to us and was the battle of the minds! Everyone had a laugh and made the drive a lot quicker than first expected.

Soon we had arrived in Chur, checking into our hotel. We had a brief team meeting about when to be back in our rooms and where to go and eat. The options included the ever so reputable McDonald’s and Hungry Jacks’ brother, the greasy Burger King. After our dinner, we all made our way back to have a shower and go to bed!

I am relieved to hear you saw some gigantic mountains as it seemed to be pretty quiet on the mountains front.
